The Post-Landfill Action Network (PLAN) equips students with the resources and tools necessary to holistically understand the Waste Crisis and lead solutions on their campuses.
PLAN positions students as leaders on their campuses and supports them to become life-long changemakers. We provide an extensive library of digital resources, coordinate Fellowship programs, offer 1-on-1 advising to Member Campuses, inspire & connect through annual events, and more.
PLAN began in 2013 with a group of students that wanted to address systemic waste during move-out. They developed the first student-led, financially self-sustaining move-out program — then helped replicate the program across the US.
Since then, we have scaled to offering support on a wide variety of campus projects, from free stores, plastic-free campaigns, long-term zero waste action planning, and more.
Our staff and board represent a wide range of movement backgrounds, academic interests, and regions of the country. PLAN's core team members are trained Campus Advisors with unique areas of expertise and personal experiences working against campus waste. We are a Worker Self-Directed Nonprofit that seeks to model our values both in our internal and external structures.
